The question
How do organizational support, fairness and positive personal resources relate to the voluntary contributions employees make beyond their formal roles? This study examines work engagement as one of the pathways connecting those resources with organizational citizenship behavior.
What the study reports
The published abstract reports positive relationships between support, justice, psychological capital and work engagement. Each resource and work engagement were also positively related to organizational citizenship behavior, with engagement acting as a partial mediator.
These findings come from a cross-sectional survey and should be read within that study context; they do not establish a causal effect from an intervention.
